29.09.2022I agree with Thorgi about letting Street Fighter 2 go.
Personally when it comes to Fighting Games and even Superheroes genres. I get bored coz I wanna see more nee stuff. Especially new nationalities and new martialnarts being repped for SF.
i understand that SF needs their Zoner (usually Dhalsim) and their Grappler (usually Zangief). But aside from them two, just create new characters. Plus I kinda feel Menat could replace Dhalsim as the resident zoner and any other grappler can succeed Zangief.
and yeah none of the new characters for SF6 rep a new country disappointingly.

29.09.2022I hope that the 4 characters (Rashid, Ed, AKKI and Akuma) are just character we can unlock in the game. It's will be great for the solo player, instead of being dlc
Dragonborn Express
29.09.20220:57. Hey, they made their own version of the High Line. For those who don't know, the High Line was an abandoned elevated railroad line in New York City that eventually got turned into a park. Seems like Capcom took some inspiration from that, but they've clearly gone and done their own thing with it.

29.09.2022With the roster I'm fine with it cause of everything thing else we're getting

29.09.2022Honestly my biggest complaint about this game is that there aren't any sf3 characters.

29.09.2022I want side missions that reference older Capcom properties. Examples:
1) A jewelry store robbery that turns out all the gems are Power Stones.
2) Retrieving a mathematician's stolen work that turns out to be the basis for Forth Energy from Star Gladiator.
3) Collecting movie reels/posters from Viewtiful Joe.
4) Finding puppy chow for Hewie/That Dog from Haunting Ground/RE4.
5) Going to the docks to meet Ruby Heart from mvc2.
6) Removing evicted tenants from the One Piece Mansion apartments.

29.09.2022okay so like idk if you talk about this in the video but i also wanna mention the open world with dlc, say you buy akuma and then you can talk to akuma and he can train you and you get some abilities, suddenly now you can raging demon some people in the overworld and get to new areas that maybe you had to pay to get past before, or maybe ryu has new dialogue for you and for each dlc character you can get new shit like that to get to new areas (or areas in new added parts of the city)

28.09.2022maybe im just old, but i didnt think of mortal kombat and tekken when i saw those options. I saw the balls and the electrical poles and the bulls, and it reminded me of Death Match mode in World Heroes (Snk game) and the create character was a Rival Schools thing. And considering how the devs have declared their love for snk games and rival, im glad to see they are taking all those things they loved as kids growing in fighting games and adding it to this game.

28.09.2022I remember there being a ton of complaints that Blanka, Guile, and Honda werenât in the base roster of SFV

28.09.2022Tekken use to be the poster child for single player content. Unlockable characters, modes, cinematics. Tekken force mode. Getting a kickass beat em up withing my fighting game was dope. Hopefully t8 fixes what t7 dropped.
P.S. yoooo rawhead rex reference! Love Clive Barker

28.09.2022Not gonna lie tho. Much more excited for tekken. But I'll def be buying sf6

28.09.2022I agree. I think the roster is kind of bland. I love the whole cast design, everyone looks great. But some of the choices just speaks safe. Having the original 8, which is nice to see on paper, I couldâve done without. The same number of new characters, are the same of the originals lol. I think Capcom should have started with more new characters, and characters we have not see in a while make a comeback. They PSTD about what happened in SF3, that their going with what works. There returning characters are fan favorites like Juri and Rashid. Their playing it safe like I said, and itâs shame. Because thereâs making some really interesting and inventive ways of making this a unique fighting. I wish the aspect of thinking would have reflective the rooster. Itâs the worst roster ever, but I believe they could have done a better job.

28.09.2022I can see where you're coming from on the whole Street fighter 2 nostalgia thing, but on the other hand I don't think it's as much them trying to play on nostalgia as it is them just trying to get all those characters out of the way. We don't want another mortal Kombat 11 Mileena situation where people are getting harassed on Twitter because someone's favorite classic character hasn't made it into the game. And having all of those characters present and accounted for means that the way for more interesting DLC has been paved. They can't fall back on releasing Street fighter 2 protagonists, at least not for long. They're going to have to do something different, something more interesting to keep people playing the game. With a good 95% of the sf2 cast covered, new characters added could be characters from the Street fighter 3 series, or alpha, or EX. Maybe even some less obvious choices like final fight characters or characters from other obscure Capcom fighters.

28.09.2022I like that you talk about the importance on single player content. I was an offline player for years but with MK11 I had so much fun with the towers that It came a point that I had almost everything unlock so I decided to try online and I'm doing pretty decent actually. So yeah the single playet stuff got me hook so much that I got to try online for the first time.

28.09.2022Thinking of world tour mode, imagine there was a mission where someone has been taking on dojos and absolutely decimating the strongest fighters they had. You follow the trail and get more and more information until the trail seemingly gets cold, until he shows up at Lukeâs place and it turns out itâs Batsu
Mazzi Charchar
28.09.2022Really hopeful for that single player world to be good.
One of the most resonate arguments you have ever made, at least on stream, was:
"Look at the easiest achievement people can get on any fighting game."
Then you showed a game with a 'play one match online' achievement and it was less than 50%. Or some other shocking number.
Crosses fingers for rival schools.
(Also excuse this really super weird side argument, but skateboarding games (-minus the leveling aspect) are very similar. The big difference is player vs environment as opposed to player vs another player/cpu mechanically they are both reliant on the player improving upon a set of skills more so then adding on abilities.)

28.09.2022In an ideal situation, I would've included at least one rep from every mainline Street Fighter game in the starting roster for the returning veterans, along with diving in their catalogue for the other games that are connected to the SF series (Akira being the Rival Schools rep for SFV was such an excellent pick). The roster that is in the game is rock-solid, and I especially love the newcomers and the redesigns of the vets.
But I do agree that we don't need to include every SFII World Warrior in the base roster, as I would've traded E. Honda and Balanka to have Dudley representing SFIII & see a modern interpretation of Final Fight's/SFA's Sodom instead.

26.09.2022Yo, what you going on about, Sim is basically one of the iconic zoning characters, his design has been so influential most games have a Sim ripoff or characters with Sim moves. Freakin' 3S fanboys hating on good designs, smh.

26.09.2022Personally, Iâm hoping Metro City isnât the only map in the mode. Even if theyâre scaled down, Iâd like to see an Indian map where you can visit Dhalsimâs village, visit Blanka in Brazil or Sagat in Thailand – rather than just have them had moved to somewhere in Metro City đ

26.09.2022Game looks good so far.
In case there is fight money, I hope that harvesting it will not be so limited (it is absurd to get a little FM in survival 1 time per character in each course).

26.09.2022I think a big issue for a lot of people going online is that fighting games are one of the most difficult types of games to get good at. Not only are fighting games hard to get good at, but losing just hits harder than in other games and the way to get good is to lose a lot.
Other popular multi-player games like FPS games and DotA style games have team coop mechanics which let the player split the brunt of the loss, blame others (even if dishonestly), and sometimes get carried. Not only that, but most of these games also have participation rewards where win or lose, you'll unlock or progress toward unlocking rewards over time which can and will keep a lot of people playing even if you're losing a lot and eventually those players will improve and keep playing anyway. In a lot of fighting games, especially Capcom games, not only does this largely not exist, but you flat out get punished for losing via downranking which provides an incentive to ragequit or just ultimately avoid online altogether.
Fact is, I know a lot of people maintain an old school mentality where they believe getting better slowly over time is reward enough, but fighting games have a much smaller rate of online participation than most games and that's on top of having a much smaller player-base than other genres.

25.09.202218 characters is a good roster. Like people act like itâs small but at the same time Tekken 7 Arcade also launched with 18 characters. Hell, Street Fighter 4 launched with 16 characters. Not every fighting game needs a large Smash Bros/KoF sized roster of 26-48 characters IN BASE ROSTER
OrionGold
25.09.2022Thorgi, I think it's also possible that those four characters to be unlockables, which is something that fighting games should really get back to doing.

25.09.2022Hey GTA give me my Street Fighter back!
I like your hype but I see nothing here for me. Cosmetic changes to original characters are too drastic to relate. Mew characters are flat. Create a character ID unnecessary. A clone of Mortal Kombat Deception 15 years too late.

25.09.2022I won't lie, I've never been big on Ken, I never found his personality particularly charming, his kit very fun, or his design very inspired. It could be due to me being in my early 20's and not being there for the 90's when Ken was peak cool but I was honestly pretty on-board for Capcom to throw him into the ringer for 6 literally just so something happened that wasn't "Ken's cocky and he loves his family". I think people gravitated so heavily towards the divorce thing because for as one-dimensional of a development in character as it is, Ken's basically always been an incredibly one-dimensional character so there wasn't even much to latch onto other than "fuck it just take his family away and now he's pissed." Still though, I think this was the best of both worlds in terms of giving Ken an edge and advancing his plot while also still retaining his honor as a character. This is the first game that made Ken compelling to me

25.09.2022If you can take the Create A Character into friendly vs modes then the roster doesn't bother me, that feature looks amazing and If I can just make a cool character design that uses all the characters I don't like's movesets and data butlooks appealing 18 characters is fine. If you can't then like I like maybe 9 character designs of the 18 and that's only half the roster.

24.09.2022I think the difference this time is that Capcom has money now and can afford to scrap a project to start fresh just like squeenix had with development of FF7 Remake

24.09.2022As a person that has hardly ever played online when I was a kid (poor internet accessibility where I was at), I was always hesitant when getting fighting games because if it didnât have any single player offerings, then it was disheartening. Even now, I donât like playing online because I too am HORRIBLE at fighting games. Now I feel so much better being excited for SF6.
In addition, I think the single player is WHY we have all of the World Warriors back. Because you are learning all of their moves throughout the story mode, you know people would ask, âWhy arenât they in the game as a full character?â And to that I have to say, yeah. That would make sense. That being said, I would have easily have wanted some replacements. Take out E. Honda and Dhalsim and put in Yun or Alex or Rashid. Have a variety of different Street Fighters that you could learn from in, that way SF6 would be a celebration of all of the previous games (and a good way to advertise any SF collections to see where they came from).

24.09.2022I'm with you on the single player modes. Sometimes when playing SF5 I get so frustrated when the lag kicks in and negative edge makes me do a move I didn't want to do. Then you have to deal with salty opponents who want to curse you out even if they won. Would much rather have modes where I don't have to deal with any of that and still experience new stuff.

24.09.2022IAM getting a dragon ball XenoVerse vibe here you can learn techniques from Street fighter characters in this game kind of like you could in dragon Ball xenoverse when you learn from the dragon Ball characters I hope that's what happens in Street fighter 6

24.09.2022I think another point in the necessity for offline content can be found in BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, the only other fighting game that I can think of that didn't release with a proper arcade mode. Yes, you had a story mode, but the only other offline mode was CPU matches that you set yourself. Unlike with Street Fighter 5, however, BBTag never got an arcade mode later down the line, and I think that is part of the reason why it failed like it did.

24.09.2022I Rather devs invest more resources in single player content than trying to dumb down their game for redditors.
