Hey everyone and welcome back to more Railroads Online! Today we are looking at a brand new route I spent the last few days working on at the steepest incline possible! This line is a shortcut allowing us to transport cordwood as fast as possibly to the smelter!

MLP-Hot-Rod
12.05.2022If you're going to buy another Heisler just for Cordwood runs and you want a lumberjack name, I'd vote for Paul – Paul Bunyan.
silly one
12.05.2022I dare you to do it with 6 cars and no breaks with the Heisler
LEMSI
12.05.2022Jack the lumberjack

12.05.2022Hey KAN Gaming. you should do a (MP) scrap machanic: Drag train build challenge & a trail pull chanllenge. [no jets]

12.05.2022How many likes on this comment will it take for Kan to do a huge 15 car gravity run down the 10% hill?
Bring some of the devs and
Dapper along. It'll be fun!

12.05.2022kAn i dare you to get a single rail car and bring it to the top and ride it downTHE 10% YOU HAVE TO DO THIS PLEASE
CMDR unematti
12.05.2022Can't you just speed down without brakes and have a runoff straight, or even a 3 percent up on the end? Or would it just jump off because of resonances
Ádám Komendó
12.05.2022I would love to see a train go down that that hill without any brake

12.05.2022Railroad diamond often exist where different railroads cross each other Distant Signal has a few views of them in action

12.05.2022Chuck Jackson the Lumber Jack

11.05.2022The perfect lumberjack name imo is LOGan 🙂 <3
Branbon s s s Miggins
11.05.2022kan you should name the engine jack and build a shed for jack he might kill you with his axe-saw 🔪🚂
Peekofwar
11.05.2022Would be cool if you could ride a horse to travel between locations instead of having to take a train to go get another train. Then you could build roads and have a reason to use your whistle more often. Or depending on the time period, drive some old automobile model.

11.05.2022You need a dedicated Engine for cordwood runs named "BIG JIM". If you drop cars at cordwood stop and take engine through next switch. You can back around through "Y" to the other end of train cars. Engine in front, all ready to head back up the hill. If you put a spur line straight back from cordwood long enough for 6 cars and engine, it would be a perfect storage spot for dedicated cordwood train.
Consequator
11.05.2022@22:40 that sounds like a science experiment waiting to happen.
GWRshunter
11.05.2022Where do you get to the spreadsheet that has the pulling power and calculations for the different grades and locomotives that he is always using? I have been trying to find it, and I haven't had much luck.
Ronald
11.05.2022You could build a what's called a Siding Y. Basically you build a siding big enough for your train and an engine on either end. Then at either end of the siding instead of just curves back to the main you have switches leading to a Y with run space at the top switch for your locomotive to pull on to. You could put a sand and water tower there and then send your engine back to be ready to pull up the hill again.
RogueAero
11.05.2022I'm a little disappointed that you didn't full send it lol. No breaks full reg all the way down. You know, for science!
TrainNerd97
11.05.2022I like the idea of a specific logging camp-based Heisler being called "Jim The LumberJack." I would probably nickname him "Big Brute Jim The Logging Train." I think that a caboose should be in the consist for the Heisler cordwood train at the back. It would really make it look nice and complete.

08.05.2022try using the train in reverse
Jacob McCarthy
08.05.2022Kan… put a switch off from the iron ore drop off point that is parallels the cord wood drop of point then you can transfer cord wood from your train to the cars parked at the point and finally to the drop off point. this sway you don't have to do a bunch of switching.
Nathan Nathan
08.05.2022If you could afford a second heisler i think you should do double headed super heavy train to the coal mine
Tia M
08.05.2022be nice if they could add 30 deg, 60 deg, and 45 deg crosses
Marcel Chagnon
08.05.2022you should always push cars up something this crazy in case you break a coupler.
Kale Brames
08.05.2022If you get another Heisler for the line, it should be named Paul Bunyan.

08.05.2022a good name is chiper

08.05.2022Charging the 10% grade! Great line. Watchable video. What this game needs are cuts and variable angle diamonds.

08.05.2022Go faster down the 10%
Stubbys Garage
08.05.2022I'm still hoping to see him get a Climax and test it

05.05.2022The lumberjack needs to be named Paul Bunyan
Matt Dvc
05.05.2022Really kAN? No gravity run on this one? Disappointing 🤣
Michael Hofmann Jr.
05.05.2022Kan you can't have that much difference in the grad3
Carl Johnson
05.05.2022if the compressor is 100% on engine it should brake all the cars when you brake the engine and Ive been using 10% grades from the iron mine to the smelter in a straight line 3 climax's and 18 lumber carts. Ive played for 12 days now and my steam account says ive played 165hrs lol
IgneousMoth432
05.05.2022Crosspieces are called Diamonds in real life and are quite common on main lines mainly because if one line was flat going north and the other was flat going west and they met it was easier to cross on a diamond than build up the grade for a bridge over. Go on google maps to any slightly rural town in Ohio and there should be a diamond.
Jayson Tadlock
05.05.2022Plenty of class one railroads had LOTs of diamonds, but as you said they were relegated to yards and had strict speed limits.
Matthew Cox
05.05.2022Here's a name for the Cordwood train locomotive: Woodchuck.
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck… in cords per day? 😁
DELTACX10
05.05.2022I got steeper than 10% using a bug a while ago.
monkeyontherun4
05.05.2022OK now run it with no brakes.
James Vann
05.05.2022You could always use weaker engines and return the long way that way you only need to be able to pull the load up a 3% grade
Mitchel Wood
03.05.2022In steam locos you can actually use the reverser and a little bit of throttle as an impromptu brake on a steep grade.
Fireburb Productions
03.05.2022Brake tip: brake every other car at 50%
Skychaser the Dragon
03.05.2022I love this series, but I really wish Kan would toss wood into his firebox every so often. Please. Watching the fuel gage sit at 0 is the worst
The Unknown
03.05.2022Kan what you can do is put a y junction switch on the end of the logwood unloading line to connect to the other line, so you won't have to unhook those three cars. Here 17:46
