04.01.2023For HTTYD3, I hope to get a mix between this game, and the first game.
I think the first game, overall, was a lot better than this one. It had so much more to do, and it was exciting, but not that much freedom in the sense that I think being on a dragon should convey.
This game on the other hand, has a lot of freedom, in the sense that you can fly, do more complicated movements, and have it actually feel like you're flying on a dragon. Gameplay wise, while it does have events/tournaments, it gets stale really fast and you can collect other dragons, but I don't think it adds too much. Also, it doesn't let you land and explore the area from a grounded perspective, making it feel a little smaller than it's supposed to feel.
I'm hoping for a game where we're able to explore the different areas Hiccup and toothless have found with similar flying mechanics as in this game, as well as the possibility to do things on the ground that maybe revolve around the story in the third installment in the franchise. And seeing as this is the very last movie for this series, hopefully we do get a balanced game that stays true to the feeling of the movies, whether it is or is not similar to how I described my hopes for it.

03.01.2023The problem with this game is that there wasn't an element of personal integration- as in, you couldn't pick and modify your own dragon, customize a character or train them as individuals- it as always the main characters. And yes, while the free flight option was great, it would feel better if it felt like YOU were riding and flying, NOT the cast. The original game had several custom options in spades, compared to this one, which felt like a mini-game riddled mess.
