Hey everyone and welcome back to more Railroads Online! Today we are rushing to build a firewood line off the main depot area as the devs have updated the game! This update changes the firewood supply station which now requires wood to produce fuel for our trains! @DapperEcho

04.05.2023The two stroke gas powered car dates back to 1885.
Neither car nor horse and buggy (or horse and wagon) could get far in that kind of terrain without a road.
My grand uncle had a cattle ranch in that kind of terrain in the 1940's and would take the cattle up in the hills for grazing. All they ever used were horses.
i eat dirt
04.05.2023The game is based from 1800-1900
Jacob Ramsey
04.05.2023I think you can load fire wood into the hand car to travle long distances
Tomislav H
04.05.2023If you have saw on you and loads of trees arround, I cannot comprehend how could you run out of logs for firewood?
Matthew Hoffman
04.05.2023What about the pump jack car. Just hook the train car to it, if it don't hook up just undo the brake and push it
Danika Hicks
04.05.2023Air breaks were first invented in 1869 (nice) for trains. If the game takes place before then, *yes*, the break man had to jump from car to car and manually set each car's breaks.
Ian Phillips
04.05.2023They might have been talking about a manual powered rail car

04.05.2023Uhgm akcchulleee. That fork module tea was maid in 19o9

04.05.2023in the uk a caboose is called a brake van
Caleb Mcbee
04.05.2023more multiplayer!!

03.05.2023I enjoyed laying ground and track from start to mill and logging camp. Took forever. But I cannot put firewood in the boiler firebox no matter what I try. So I gave up on the game.
Mr llamaton
03.05.2023Now we need a caboose car

03.05.2023Trucks were driving on hay at the time

03.05.2023Horse or track cars

03.05.2023The newest (in years) locomotive there is as of my knowing is 1905 so the game probably takes place in the early 1910s
Gerrard 114
03.05.2023caboose (american mostly) and brake van (british mostly) are the same thing (or brake man's van which i never heard of), and they're used to brake trains from the back of the train, like when the train breaks off the locomotive the brake van would slow the train down
Nicolas Fontaine-Galipeau
03.05.2023if you have no wood you use the minecart duh
JessieJ
03.05.2023WISH the devs would allow us to lay track with a top down view instead of eye level
Steam Engine Studios
03.05.2023They DO realize that in railroading there IS something known as a HANDCAR that could move at least one railcar at a time without needing ANY fuel, and that the rout from the depot to the lumber mill is MOSTLY FLAT, meaning that you could just USE THE HANDCAR TO GET MORE FIREWOOD!
Steam Engine Studios
03.05.2023Regarding rescue engines, the Eureka seems like a good candidate for that sort of work. if there was ever a runaway and you had to go find/rescue the missing engine, or if you were out on the line and ran out of firewood, it might be a good idea to have a engine that can be used for search and rescue missions, and, even if it doesn't have the best pulling power, The Eureka has a good top speed when it's running light, and it has a very high fuel capacity, so it could be out on the line for a longer time period, and having a high fuel capacity means it could share some of it's firewood with stranded engines, which makes it a perfect candidate for a search and rescue locomotive.

01.05.2023I really hope that we'll see cities and cities come with passengers and mail. And instead of dropping stuff into the freight depot you deliver it to a city. Just like Transport Fever 2.
lostZwolf
01.05.2023you will have to use the hand cart or pumpcart to get wood cut it and then walk it all the way back
NightStorm878
01.05.2023I know I'm late to comment but you had the other train with a tender full of wood
Not
01.05.2023Automovealeas where in 1880-1890 and this game it like 1800-1875 so not really a possibility, but if it’s 1900 than a Ford pickup is a possibility
Wolfpack
01.05.202324:00 actually they would totally run over the cars and hand crank every brake, even if they have to run from the caboose to the main engine at full speed, the danger it posed to the brakeman caused people to make a system to brake every car at once later on, though.
Peter Hamilton
01.05.2023Bicycle, buggy, carriage, and wagon powered by horse, steam, and gasoline.
8-7-Styx
01.05.2023Why not use a Eureka with a tender on it to haul firewood? It's a fairly zippy train especially on its own or with one logging car to refill the wood depot. Just use it to rescue trains that are out of firewood (OOF)
Nope.
01.05.2023If you run out of fuel don’t forget you can use the man powered thing car
It will take a looooong time but your world will be saved
Nope.
01.05.2023Also irl when there’s no fire temperature steam would turn back to water and pressure is lost.

HORSE PULLING TRAIN?!!!! 😀

WAAAAIIIIIT
Can't you derail a car, rerail it at logging camp, load it,derail it again, and rerail at firewood.
NoMercy745
30.04.2023Speaking of caboose's, you could have a Michael J. Caboose.
Samuel Clark
30.04.2023I think it would be funny if kAN ran the Eureka with no cars full steam on the line to the smelter.
DADY O96
30.04.2023Welcome to the world a ocd
Harland Holshouser
30.04.2023Why not take the tinderbox from the eurika and hook it to Betsy so the amount of wood wouldn’t be an issue
OOFMANN
30.04.2023kAN i think you have ocd with the rails
SUSHANT RANE
30.04.2023you do know there are hand carts
Viktor Reznov
30.04.2023the model T was sold from 1908 to 1927 and some cars did exist before that, but they were only bought by the extremely rich because of their price.
insylem
30.04.202323:53 Yes, modern trains brake every car. 24:01 From what I understand that's exactly how they did it. Run from car to car setting the brakes.
Fred Banana
30.04.2023How much is this game
Ethan Schmid
29.04.2023This had a “Gallant Old Engine” feel! If your engine ran out of fuel, and if it’s the only operating steam engine, your railroad would be done for. Your Betsy is a gallant old engine! Awesome video!
Logan Entertainment
29.04.2023It makes sense for players to get their own wood for a fuel source for your trains without getting infinite wood. It makes it a challenge.
Ricardo Kutz
29.04.2023@kAN Gaming – How are you controlling the loco power/brakes etc. from outside of the cab?
Nicholman's Garage
29.04.2023"There's no way they would like… run between all the cars hand cranking them"
As a matter of fact, that is exactly what they did. Very dangerous job. Same people were also in charge of coupling cars together. They lost a lot of fingers, if not their lives.
Silamon
29.04.2023A bit late, but for your question on whether trucks existed in the 1800s, there were steam powered vehicles that were pretty much steam trains without the track. That could be a good addition IMO.
Game Tech30
29.04.2023If you look up "narrow gauge porter" you will see that they were used in very early 19 hundreds like 1905-1906 somewhere around there
Game Tech30
29.04.2023Also I'm a model railroaded and I model 1957 denver and rio grande western railroad cuz I live in colorado. I'm a part of a group
Stacie Garnett-Cook
29.04.2023I think it was like 1906 from the model T first became a mass produce product in the United States
Skirakzalus
29.04.2023Watching these old RRO-vids makes me wonder just how bad the building system must have been before splines.
James Simmons
29.04.2023Just got the game thanks to watching kAN and Hyce and I'm watching your old videos. I'm so glad they improved the track laying from this.
